For the past four decades, the words “disrupter” and “connector” have been applied the most to Anita Stewart and her career path. Her mantra is “Canada IS food and the world is richer for it.” A member of the Order of Canada, she is the Food Laureate of the University of Guelph and is the Founder of Food Day Canada/ Journée des terroirs. Her graduate studies focused on Gastronomic Tourism but she’s likely best known for her knowledge of Canadian cuisine and has spent a lifetime exploring, cooking, writing about and celebrating the food life of Canada and our peoples.
