A new food industry movement is underway on Prince Edward Island. Forage Prince Edward Island is an annual two day industry symposium celebrating food culture on PEI. Planning has started for the first symposium to take place in October 2018. Fundraising activities will begin Sunday, October 1 at Farm Day in the City.
Co-founder, Jeff McCourt, is passionate about strengthening the Island’s food culture and brand. McCourt and his team have partnered with like minded individuals and producers across the Island to make Forage a reality.
“The Committee will all come together on Sunday to educate Islanders on what it is Forage Prince Edward Island wishes to accomplish,” says Co-founder Jeff McCourt. “Our committee is made of up of local food producers, chefs, tourism operators and marketing service providers. Forage is all about networking, education, sharing stories and real food experiences.”
The group will be located in front of Casa Mia on Queen Street at Farm Day in the City on October 1. They will be cooking delicious local ingredients from Atlantic Beef Products, Prince Edward Aqua Farms, One Vision Farms and Larkin Brothers. Come out and meet some of our talented chef members and help fundraise for this grass roots, industry movement.
